Global semi-conductor company Advanced Micro Devices makes the microchips that run computers and many smart appliances. AMD primarily offers x86 microprocessors as an accelerated processing unit (APU), chipsets, discrete graphics processing units (GPUs), and professional graphics. It also offers server and embedded processors, and semicustom System-on-Chip (SoC) products and technology for game consoles.

AMD rallied off the $9.99 low point and is currently trading above $25 per share. You could sell at this point and walk away with a tidy profit. At a minimum, you should take profits on half the position, which would reduce your cost base to below $3 per share. You could also sell calls against any remaining shares if you choose the sell-half/hold-half strategy. - Richard Croft
