It also provides energy storage and industrial water solutions and has been heavily investing in green energy projects for over 20 years.
CU’s main operations are in Alberta, but it also has natural gas and mining interests in Australia and Mexico. It owns 87,000 km of electrical transmission lines and 64,500 km of pipelines.
The company has approximately 4,600 employees and assets of about $20 billion. It is 52.3% owned by ATCO, which is also Alberta-based.
