First Quantum is a leading global copper/gold and nickel producer. 2025 copper production is estimated at 390-410,000 tonnes, gold production at 140-150,000 oz., and nickel production at 18-23,000 tonnes.
The company has two major copper/gold mines in Zambia (Sentinel and Kansanshi) and the Enterprise nickel mine, also in Zambia. Its major asset was the giant Cobre Panama copper mine, which accounted for one-third of its output in 2023, before it was shut down by the then government of Panama after the country’s Supreme Court ruled its twenty-year concession was illegal.
