At around $25 a share, Kraft Heinz yields 6.57%, roughly double the payout of the average dividend-paying consumer staple. Its most recognizable products include Heinz ketchup, Philadelphia cream cheese, Kraft Dinner, Oscar Mayer, and Maxwell House.
The shares have lost nearly three-quarters of their value since the ill-starred 2015 merger that Warren Buffett now openly calls a mistake, and that long slide is what has pushed the yield to where it is today. This is not a stock for excitement. It is a stock for being paid well while someone capable tries to fix it.
